of new jersey, 100 b thousand people packed the jersey shore to hear the former president for 90 minutes. it was a classic. he hit on a lot of his classic themes and talked about how terrible joe biden's america is right now. he's right. he was able to get out of the courthouse and you amongst his people and he was energized by it. a portion of what he said was about one of his potential vp or part of his administration, a name you heard before that he mentioned last night. >> doug b burg am and katheri, an incredible can couple. you won't find anybody better than this gentlemen. knows more about energy than anybody i know. get ready for something, okay. just get ready. doug burgam has been incredible, the country is lucky to have him.

rachel: pete hegseth noticed donald trump mentioned the wife's name. that's a good sign. they flew on the jet together. had the wife and burgam with him on the flight over. those are good signs, not necessarily -- could be vice president. he talked about energy. could be he has a place for him doing energy policy in the trump administration. >> yeah. and if he -- if donald trump wants to run on a great winning issue, energy would be a really great one. rachel: amen to that. >> one person who is not on the list you apparently would be nikki haley, president trump, former president trump truthed out yesterday, nikki haley is not under consideration for the vp slot but i wish her well, signed djt. there's never been a more shermaneskque declaration from a president ruling out a vice

presidential pick. rachel: it was floated yesterday. a lot of people wondered was it floated by nikki's team, we talked about it yesterday on the couch. we were pretty dubious about that because she's not really in line with america first, she's probably more from the neo-con camp that's aging out of sort of style within the republican base. but donald trump just let everyone know, no, that's not happening. >> it kale out early in -- came out early in the show, a politico report. it was one of those trial balloon, d.c. trial balloon type articles, no actual sourcing and she may be off the black list, we'll see, but not on the vp list and donald trump made it clear. i think that's the smart choice. >> as you pointed out earlier, there's a long way from the black list to the vp list. rac.rachel: you're right, it'sa long trip. we had the 2024 press secretary -- a new mom, due in july, was

nice to have her on. she weighed in on president trump's possible choice for vp. listen. >> well, the republican national convention is coming up soon, in a couple of months in july. i think president trump has said he will make his decision later this summer and in true president trump fashion he'll go directly to the american people to do that. governor burgam was with us last night. there's a lot of great options on the table. i will say that any one of them will be much better than kamala harris. that is for sure. >> that's true. >> go ahead. >> as you pointed out, that that's a pretty low bar. rachel: it's a low bar. it was a low blow, actually, what she just said. army ever has. rachel: there's nothing that reveals how disingenuous the protesters are. i'm a peace person. everyone on the couch knows i've been calls for peace in the situation. i've been calling for the hostages to be released which brings me to what is so revealing about how you disingenuous the pro-palestinian, pro-hamas protesters are in the united states, you never hear them talk about the hostages, the innocent hostages who have been sitting -- >> they can't. it undercuts their whole hinge the. they can't talk about it. rachel: but the point is, you can have a disagreement with israel, a disagreement with how israel is h handling the war an what they're doing and whether they're being careful with civilians, those are all legitimate questions you can ask but there has been zero interest in the hostages and mind you, some of those hostages are american citizens and i'll lay that, charlie, right on joe biden's lap as well because he never talks about americans who are being held.

bike helmet, saying today i came prepared. this comes after friday night when the grand slam champion was hit in the head by a metal water bottle while signing aautographs but you assured fans he's doing okay. and a 106-year-old world war ii veteran has reclaimed his record for being the oldest person in the world to tandem sky dive. >> we just broke the world record. >> i lost my breath. you lostyour breath. >> i can't hardly talk. >> here we go. something about it. >> yeah. i mean, this is crazy. you're seeing there's the numbers right there, literally a large cities crossing the border every month and the federal government is doing nothing about it and texas has passed a law which is deterring people there, they're seeing fewer crossings. arizona wants to follow suit. we want to give law enforcement the ability to detain and arrest people who are illegally crossing the border and just to be clear, this is people that are -- this deals with -- this is really a border security bill. this is not really an immigration bill. it's us stopping people who are crossing the border illegally. it doesn't have to do with inside of the state or lawful presence. this is merely us picking up where the federal government has absolutely failed us and left our border wide open. >> of course, your governor, katie hobbs, is trying to claim this is all political.

listen to what she had to say. >> the b biggest problem and failure recently is the fact that there was a bipartisan bill that was negotiated with the president and the senate and congress refused to take it up including members of congress from our state who represent border communities and they're continuing to call it a crisis and just politicizing the issue. >> i'm sorry, real quick, who is politicizing this? >> they are. and it's completely ridiculous. we have put 0 10 bills on the governor's desk to secure the border. she vetoed all of those. we're going to send it to the voters and voters have the chance to secure our borders and let's t say even if she is telling the truth, even if we all know what washington is completely dysfunctional and if they really aren't willing to secure the border, which our party is the party of securing the border, let's say they weren't, two wrongs don't make a right. we have to secure our border.

if you look at what bill clinton said in '92 and '96 at the democratic convention, ebb force the borders, 100,000 more police officers, strong support for israel, develop energy, that's ununrecognizable today in the democratic party. you couldn't do that. if you look at donald trump's you ajeyou aagenda and i would e manchin to tell the nation how it differs from prior reganism, tax cuts, deregulation, energy, crime deterrent, support for israel. it's almost identical except maybe for deficit spending although reagan was a deficit spender himself. the change and the revolution has been on the left on the democratic party, it's unrecognizable, it's run by the squad, elizabeth warren, bernie sanders, blm, antifa, you name it. cher.>> something that's strane from me, your home state, nancy pelosi used to be the left wing fringe of the party and she kept

history, very rare were great powers were destroyed, i don't mean just conquered c, i mean erased from history, and there were commonalities and i talked about the modern world. we in america, i'm not sure we're on the edge of being destroyed but we keep thinking that we're america of the 20 years ago, we don't look at the $36 trillion in debt or borrowing a trillion dollars every 90 days or a completely open border with 10 million people we have no idea who they are or turning our back on israel or ukraine war, the afghanistan, the gaza, the you houthis and the defense budget and what we produce in terms of naval ships compared to china. so they're all self-inflicted in history. they didn't have to happen this he way. they're kind of a relaxation and the last words of the conquered are always something like somebody will help us or it can't happen here or they wouldn't really do that to us. so it's kind of a wake-up call
